Zero-byte stub files in the NTFS file system replace video files moved to the cloud. These stub files are placeholders that allow applications to function normally as if the video exists in its original location.

Video migration from SC//Platform to Wasabi Surveillance Cloud is performed seamlessly and automatically based on the storage policy you define. During the process, video remains available while capacity is freed on the primary and secondary recording servers. Users and applications still access the offloaded video in the same manner as when it was on site, via the same source, same directory, and in the same way—even in the cloud. All video stored in the Wasabi Surveillance Cloud is considered “hot” and is readily available.
