At IBC 2023, Wasabi will be showcasing new strategic partnerships with Grass Valley and GrayMeta, deepening our ties in the media & entertainment industry. These new integrations showcase Wasabi’s focus on being the best in cloud storage and partnering with key players to create powerful media workflow solutions.

Wasabi will provide cost savings and flexibility to Grass Valley’s Agile Media Processing Platform (AMPP). Together, Grass Valley AMPP and Wasabi hot cloud storage provide the most comprehensive and cost-effective media workflow storage solution. Wasabi can now serve as a hot cloud storage target within the AMPP ecosystem offering limitless cloud storage without any ingress or egress fees. Content files can move between Wasabi storage and AMPP applications without incurring any transfer fees to minimize expense and keep projects on budget.

Unlike traditional hyperscalers, which impose a variety of fees for accessing or using your data, Wasabi offers predictably priced, accessible cloud storage. This means you truly own your data, with no hidden fees for API calls, egress, or ingress.

By utilizing Wasabi with AMPP, users gain access to a highly secure and fast-performing storage environment, complete with predictable pricing. Wasabi hot cloud storage can serve as an active location for editing, conversion and streaming, as well as a long-term content archive. The combined solution enables broadcasters, news agencies and sports producers to create and deliver more content to more channels at the lowest possible cost.

Meanwhile, Wasabi will also be previewing new SmartBuckets TM technology through a powerful new integration with GrayMeta Curio that will harness the power of AI to create more personalized sports fan experiences with hyper specific detail. The partnership transforms cumbersome media archives into the highly indexed and searchable Smart Buckets™, generating rich metadata for media libraries stored in Wasabi that enables digital creatives to instantly find and retrieve specific media segments based on people, places, events, emotions, logos, landmarks, background audio, and more. They can then deliver relevant content to market as fast as possible.

Liverpool Football Club aims to take its strategic partnership with Wasabi to the next level by looking at how they could apply this technology to its own media library in the near future. “This solution would allow us to bring fans more rapid access to engaging content from the most recent games to those most memorable moments from the club’s history and help them feel even more connected to their club,” said Drew Crisp, svp of digital, Liverpool Football Club.

Sports organizations, as well as Hollywood studios and television networks all have vast archives of historic footage that they would like to monetize, reuse, or incorporate into enhanced fan experiences. The problem has been how to transform these monolithic archives into a highly searchable and monetizable content store without investing millions of dollars in technology or thousands of hours in manual content tagging. “The joint offering from Wasabi and GrayMeta will provide a viable and economic solution to that problem, so organizations can instantly find the archival content they want and deliver personalized audience experiences,” added Whit Jackson, Wasabi VP of Media & Entertainment.
