Wasabi Honors Educators at Third Annual Fenway Bowl Honor Roll

August 22, 2023
Julie BarryVice President, Global Brand and Communications

As the Vice President of Global Brand and Communications at Wasabi and an Executive member of the Honor Roll Board, I am thrilled to share with you the remarkable journey of the 2023 Fenway Bowl Honor Roll.  I am the Vice-Chairperson of my town’s school committee and so this initiative is near and dear to my heart as it recognizes and celebrates the extraordinary educators and support staff who have gone above and beyond for their students, especially during unprecedented times.

The Fenway Bowl Honor Roll was launched in 2020 with the aim of acknowledging the tireless efforts of educators across New England. This year we’ll have the privilege of celebrating educators, administrators, and support staff as Honor Roll Finalists, including three top Monster Finalists. These individuals will be nominated by their peers for their exceptional work in their schools and communities, likely chosen from hundreds of submissions.

The Honor Roll program is more than just a recognition; it is a testament to the resilience and dedication of unsung heroes who have continued to inspire and nurture young minds, despite the many challenges facing teachers in schools across New England today. The 27 nominees and 3 Monster Finalists will receive a grant for their classroom to aid their mission of bringing the highest standard of education to our children.

Beyond the excitement of the Wasabi Fenway Bowl itself, what we’re truly most proud of is the opportunity to support the Honor Roll program. We are thrilled to recognize these amazing individuals, and to help them and their students thrive in and out of the classroom

The Wasabi Fenway Bowl is not just about sports; it’s about community, resilience, and the power of education. We are proud to partner with Fenway Sports Management to bring the philanthropic mission of the bowl game to life and support equitable and quality education in communities across New England.

Do you know an educator who deserves to be recognized? Submit your stories of people in education who are making a difference — from teachers and college professors to school nurses, custodians, librarians, and more. 27 nominees and 3 Monster Finalists will be recognized at the Wasabi Fenway Bowl game on December 28, 2023.

Submit your nominations here.

And remember, The Wasabi Fenway Bowl will return to Fenway Park on December 28 at 11 a.m. ET on ESPN featuring teams from the American Athletic Conference (AAC) and Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

Here’s to the educators who inspire us, and to the power of community and resilience.
