Aberdeen FC manages a growing volume of video, media, and system data across multiple departments. Over time, use cases for the club’s media data increased substantially to include player analysis, club archives, and media data . Historically, the club stored this data on-premises; however, the explosive growth in media volume exceeded Aberdeen FC’s existing onsite SAN capacity. With data surpassing existing storage capacity, and limited off-site protection, the IT team needed a better way to back up critical media and preserve irreplaceable video content without adding hardware.

Aberdeen FC has a lean IT team but manages over 100 systems and services with support from IT services provider, Softcat.
