Wasabi + Autotask: Simplifying Cloud Storage Management for MSPs

For managed service providers (MSPs), scaling the business shouldn’t mean scaling manual work along with it. As customer environments grow, moving between platforms to provision accounts, track usage, and reconcile billing can add unnecessary complexity to day-to-day operations.

That’s why Wasabi is introducing a new integration between Autotask PSA and Wasabi Account Control Manager. The integration brings Wasabi account provisioning, usage reporting, and service management into the Autotask workflows MSPs already use to run their businesses, helping teams reduce manual administration while maintaining control over how services are delivered.

Bring Wasabi into the Autotask workflow

For many MSPs, the PSA platform sits at the center of business operations, connecting customers, service delivery, contracts, technicians, and billing. Adding a cloud storage service shouldn’t require teams to create an entirely separate operational process.

The Autotask integration connects those existing workflows directly with Wasabi Account Control Manager. Using Connect APIs, MSPs and resellers can provision Wasabi channel and sub-accounts through Autotask without having to move between platforms. Existing Wasabi Account Control Manager accounts can also be mapped to the appropriate Autotask accounts, allowing MSPs to bring both new and existing customers into the same operating model.

Because the integration works through Wasabi Account Control Manager and Autotask APIs, there’s no additional agent or software that needs to be installed at customer sites. Customer objects stored in Wasabi never pass through Autotask; the integration connects management and business workflows only, not the data itself.

Automate provisioning without giving up control

Automation is valuable, but MSPs still need control over when customer services are provisioned. The Wasabi and Autotask integration is designed around an approval-driven workflow that combines both.

MSPs can initiate Wasabi account provisioning through a standard Autotask service desk ticket. Once the appropriate request is approved, the integration can automatically create the corresponding channel or sub-account within Wasabi Account Control Manager based on the customer type. Account information is then returned through the Autotask workflow.

This allows MSPs to standardize and automate onboarding while maintaining the internal approvals and processes they already have in place. Account suspension can also be incorporated into the workflow, helping MSPs manage more of the customer lifecycle directly through Autotask.

Connect storage usage with business operations

Provisioning is only one part of managing a growing cloud storage business. MSPs also need visibility into how much storage customers consume so they can manage services and bill accurately.

The integration delivers daily and monthly Wasabi usage information into Autotask, giving MSP teams access to relevant consumption data within the same environment where they manage their customers and services. The integration can also create service desk tickets when it detects issues such as usage overages or service disruptions.

By reducing the need to manually collect and transfer usage information between Wasabi Account Control Manager and Autotask, MSPs can minimize repetitive data entry and reduce opportunities for transcription errors, missed updates, and reconciliation issues.

Autotask remains responsible for the MSP’s invoicing and billing workflow, while the Wasabi integration provides the usage and service information needed to support those processes. MSPs retain control over how Wasabi storage is packaged, priced, and sold to their customers.

Scale Wasabi as part of your managed services portfolio

The value of automation becomes even greater as an MSP adds customers. Manually coordinating PSA records, customer accounts, usage data, and billing inputs may be manageable for a handful of accounts, but the administrative burden can grow quickly alongside the business.

Connecting Wasabi Account Control Manager and Autotask creates a more repeatable process for delivering Wasabi services. MSPs can use familiar Autotask workflows to onboard customers, manage accounts, monitor usage, and support billing without requiring the same level of manual administration for every new customer.

That makes it easier to incorporate Wasabi cloud storage into recurring managed services, whether it’s being delivered alongside backup and recovery, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, video surveillance, or other data-intensive services.

Built for the way MSPs work

The Autotask integration is another step in Wasabi’s broader effort to meet MSPs within the tools and workflows they already use.

Rather than treating cloud storage as an isolated product that requires its own administrative process, MSPs can make Wasabi part of the same PSA-driven lifecycle they use to manage other services, from customer onboarding and provisioning through usage management and billing.

For MSPs already using Autotask, that means less time moving between systems, fewer manual processes, and a more scalable way to build Wasabi into their managed services business.

No. The integration connects business and account management workflows between Wasabi and Autotask. Customer objects stored in Wasabi never pass through Autotask.

MSPs submit a request through a standard Autotask service desk ticket. Once approved, the integration creates the corresponding Wasabi channel or sub-account automatically, and account details are returned to Autotask. Existing Wasabi accounts can also be mapped to Autotask for current customers.

Autotask remains responsible for invoicing and billing. The integration delivers the usage and service data Autotask needs to support that process, while MSPs retain full control over how Wasabi storage is packaged, priced, and sold.
