Content Delivery Network (CDN)
What is a content delivery network (CDN)?
A content delivery network (CDN) is a network composed of strategically placed edge servers. These servers deliver digital content to internet users to decrease loading times on HTML pages, in javascript files, stylesheets, images, and videos. With the emergence of cloud computing, CDNs have become an essential trend involving virtually all aspects of the cloud.
How does a CDN work?
Today's web users have little patience for applications that don’t deliver near-instantaneous performance. That means companies need a sound strategy for rapidly delivering content where it needs to go. Enter: CDNs. CDNs present a viable solution to speeding up the delivery of all sorts of content.
But delivering that content is only half the battle - organizations also need a place to store the source files. That’s why Wasabi has partnered with innovative CDN providers including Cloudflare, Fastly, and Limelight Networks. Now, Wasabi's clients can employ our inexpensive, high-performance cloud services for origin storage while using our partners’ CDN offerings to deliver content to users at lightning-quick speeds.
