Overview

Founded in 1997, Right Click is an Orange County based IT Consulting firm servicing medium-sized businesses. They provide services such as VOIP, hosted software licensing, and cloud data storage. Right Click started using Veeam backup and replication and Wasabi hot cloud storage to manage their backups. Currently, over 50 of RightClick’s clients are backing up their data to Wasabi.

Challenge

With 50 individual Wasabi accounts under management, each with their own associated data amounts, Right Click was coming up against the limits of the Wasabi user interface. To manage each account’s buckets, the IT team at RightClick would have to log in to each one individually to set up policies or monitor data usage. For billing, too, this was problematic. The billing information of each account was not linked to their Wasabi account which made it difficult to keep track of. Co-founder Baiju Mehta said their accounting department would receive 50 credit card charges every month that the team would then have to reconcile.

Solution: Wasabi Account Control Manager

Wasabi Account Control Manager is a new product for MSPs or large enterprises managing multiple Wasabi accounts. It gives administrators a single login under which they can consolidate their separate Wasabi accounts. WACM gives users insights into their clients’ data and billing information in a unified view, simplifying the process of managing your Wasabi customers.

Right Click started using the Wasabi Account Control Manager in November of 2020 and now has all of their Wasabi clients listed as sub-accounts in a centralized environment. They are able to view the active storage of all their Wasabi customers as well as gain insights into their API requests and egress amounts. They can also export the total billed storage for all of their accounts as an easy-to-understand CSV for accounting purposes.

Results

Now with the Wasabi Account Control Managerimplemented, the Right Click team can expedite the billing process. The added visibility provided by this tool streamlines accounting workflows, enabling more efficient record-keeping and invoicing. “The accounting team is much happier,” said Baiju.
