Ready When It Counts: Inside the New Wasabi Console Security Center
Attackers rarely need a zero-day. They need a blind spot, and disorganization creates one faster than any exploit can. Piling on more controls doesn't fix that. Seeing them all clearly, in one place, and trusting what they tell you does.
That's what the new Security Center in the Wasabi Console was built to solve: one home for every security control you have, and a clear, honest answer to the question every admin eventually has to ask themselves: how secure am I, really?
Enter the Security Center
The Security Center is a single, dedicated space in the Wasabi Console that brings your account's entire security posture into one place. No more digging through separate menus to find MFA, password policy, and log management settings. Every setting that touches your security now has one address.
Your security posture, at a glance
At the center of it all is the Security Health Check, a real-time scorecard of where your account stands. It looks at the settings that matter most (MFA status, password strength requirements, root account protections, and more) and tells you plainly what's configured, what's missing, and what to do about it.
That matters because most breaches start with basics that fell through the cracks. Compromised credentials account for roughly a quarter of ransomware incidents, according to Sophos' 2026 State of Ransomware report, with stolen or reused passwords that hand attackers a direct line into a network.
With the Security Center, you don't have to interpret settings or cross-reference documentation to know where you stand. The Health Check tells you, and links you straight to the fix.
One home for every setting
Before the Security Center, each security setting lived alongside the feature it belonged to: user password settings with users, MFA with account access, and so on. That placement made sense on its own terms, but it meant no one could see the whole picture in one view.
We consolidated every one of those settings into a single, consistent hub, and we did it for a reason: IDC research has found that organizations are now managing an average of ten cloud security tools, often adding more every year. Gartner projects that by 2029, organizations that integrate their endpoint security tools, processes, and operations teams will cut incident response times by at least 40%, driven by unification rather than new tooling. Whether you're auditing your account for compliance or just doing routine hygiene, there's now exactly one place to look.
A safer front door
We also gave the account protection flows themselves an overhaul, starting with MFA. The forms for setting up, viewing, and deactivating MFA have been rebuilt from the ground up with clearer language, better context on why a step matters, and status indicators that leave no ambiguity about whether you're protected.
Centralized Root and User Password settings continue to meet or exceed NIST's current guidance, giving you the flexibility to set minimum lengths as high as your organization requires. Log management now lives right alongside these controls too, so reviewing account activity is just as simple as everything else in the Security Center.
A clean, low-friction setup is worth just as much as the controls themselves. The easier a step is to complete correctly, the more likely it gets done that way every time.
Built into everything, including Covert Copy
The Security Center reflects a standard we hold for everything we ship, including Covert Copy™. It’s our patent-pending approach to data protection: an invisible, immutable copy of your data that no one, not even an attacker with full access to your environment, can see, alter, or delete. Ransomware can spread or credentials can fall into the wrong hands, and Covert Copy stays untouched, ready to restore from.
That’s what cyber resilience actually means in practice: not just preventing an attack, but guaranteeing that even a successful one can't cost you your data. Covert Copy is that guarantee, built directly into the storage layer and standing behind every account.
This is the pattern we want for all of Wasabi's security capabilities going forward: strong by default, transparent about your status, and consolidated in one place so nothing gets missed.
See it, secure it
Security isn't a box you check once. It's a posture you maintain, and the Security Center makes staying on top of it simple. Every Wasabi customer gets a clear, honest view of where they stand and a direct path to close any gaps, without having to be a security expert to find them.
Ransomware and cyber attacks aren't slowing down, but neither are we. Log in, open the Security Center, and see where you stand today.
Every setting, fully documented

Security settings used to live alongside the features they belonged to, making it hard to see the full picture. Consolidating them addresses a documented industry problem: organizations manage an average of ten cloud security tools, according to IDC research, and unifying tools and operations can meaningfully cut incident response times, according to Gartner.
The MFA setup, viewing, and deactivation forms were rebuilt with clearer language and status indicators that leave no ambiguity about whether an account is protected.
Covert Copy is Wasabi's patent-pending, invisible, and immutable copy of your data that stays out of reach even if the rest of an environment is compromised. It reflects the same security-first approach behind the Security Center: strong protection by default, paired with clear visibility into account status.
